Makenna Dockter
Hi friends!! I'm Makenna Dockter and I am a senior in the Family Studies program. After I graduate, I am hoping to go into instructional design. I served my mission in Taiwan and I love playing board games with my husband, singing in BYU Women's Chorus, and creating digital art and piano arrangements. I have benefitted so much from my major and would highly recommend taking any SFL class!

Claire Hafen
Hi! My name's Claire Hafen from American Fork Utah! I'm studying family sciences and minoring in Italian. I hope to go into Marriage and Family Therapy! When I'm not studying, I love sports, movies, going to the gym, photography and trying out new baking recipes!

McKayla Horne
Hi! My name is McKayla Horne, and I am a junior majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. One thing I love about SFL classes is getting to work with my hands, whether that's cooking or sewing. I am also passionate about interior design, and in the future, I plan to earn a degree in interior design and pursue a graduate degree. In my free time, I love baking, crafting, or learning something new.

Micaela Iturrino Arce
Hi! My name is Micaela Iturrino Arce, and I'm from Lima, Peru. I'm a sophomore majoring in Family Life: Family Studies, and I want to become a clinical social worker! I am passionate about service and helping my community, as well as working with children and families. I already have worked in preschools, schools, and non-profits and is the best thing ever! I love SFL because I like to learn about cultures and different points of view within the family in a lot of different contexts. In my free time, I enjoy baking, doing embroidery, watching movies, going to concerts, and spending time with my family and fiancé! I'm excited to be in SFLSA because I want to help students feel they belong and to keep loving and pursuing these majors.

Hello! My name is Katie Jensen and I am a junior majoring in Family Life. I love the School of Family Life and SFLSA! I am planning on attending graduate school in Marriage and Family Therapy after graduating. I love music, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family!

Leah Kartchner
Hi! My name is Leah Kartchner! I’m a Family Life: Human Development major in my sophomore year at BYU. My plans right now is to get a masters in social work and to focus on helping children or adolescents. I was born and raised in South Jordan Utah and I served a mission in Calgary Canada. Some of my passions are to hike, ski, read, run, and to be outside or with people.

McCoi Lamont
My name is McCoi Lamont, and I am a junior studying Human Development here at BYU. I plan to become an occupational therapist and am passionate about helping others. I served my mission in the Baltic States, where I learned Russian, and I continue to study the language at BYU. Outside of school, I enjoy baking, traveling, spending time in nature, and making memories with family and friends.

Alyssa Love
Hi Y'all I’m Alyssa Love! I’m a senior majoring in Family Life and Consumer Sciences Education, and you can usually find me in the Cooking Lab here on campus! I’m passionate about FCS and love that I get to study something that combines so many of the things I enjoy. Outside of school, I love all things pink, country music and dancing, thrifting, and being crafty. I’m also known for picking up new hobbies and starting way too many projects at once—whether it’s sewing, scrapbooking, photography, or whatever I decide to try next. I love being creative, connecting with others, and I’m excited to be part of SFLSA and help create a place where students can get involved and feel like they belong!

My name is Caroline Montgomery, and I am a senior from Dallas, Texas. I am majoring in Family Studies and minoring in Music! I plan to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I love playing the piano and organ, skiing, dancing with friends, and eating good food!

Samantha Oswald
My name is Samantha Oswald and I am from Farmington, Utah. I am majoring in Human Development, and I plan to get my master’s degree in social work! I love this major and know that it will help me in the future as a mother and wife. I love anything outdoors, whether it’s paddle boarding, hiking, walking, etc. I also love being with family and friends, reading good books, and playing volleyball!

Emma Pace
Hey yall! My name is Emma Pace, and I am from Wilmington, North Carolina. I am a senior here at BYU studying Human Development. My dream job is becoming a mom! Along with that, I hope achieve Master's in Student Counseling and Education to become a high school guidance counselor. I am very passionate about family studies and pursuing a career that will give you joy! I absolutely love SFL, everything I am learning will help me not only in a career, but also to become more compassionate and a better disciple of Christ. As for hobbies I thoroughly enjoy sports, cooking, baking, and anything having to do with the beach!

Hi! My name is Tamara Román, I am a sophomore majoring in Human Development! I am from México and I have loved studying at BYU. I especially enjoy learning about child development and hope to become a school psychologist! I love rock climbing, listening to music, and making pottery!

Hi Everyone! My name is Janessa and I am currently a Senior Majoring in Family Life (Family Studies) and minoring in Design Thinking. I am currently a video editor for the MTC, and plan to one day become a teacher. I served my mission in Belgium and the Netherlands, and loved every minute of it. I also love playing intramural Ultimate Frisbee and Wallyball here at BYU. In my free time I love playing games, doing crafts, and traveling!
